[ANTICIPATED SITE LAUNCH: FALL 2013!]

► WHERE DID IT COME FROM?

YearNoWriMad was conjured up on December 1st, 2011 upon realizing that what got me through National Novel Writing Month—insane levels of competitiveness and motivation—would cease to exist until next year's event. In a frantic effort to preserve and maintain my prolific writing output, the very first YearNo group (of questionable beauty!) was born on my acting website, User Based Casting.  It received some much-needed TLC a year later, including updated author profile layouts and a prettier "home" page. (See inset!)

Somewhere along the line, I realized that YearNoWriMad would make for an excellent standalone website. I mapped out my ideas and presented them to my fiancé (who is currently working behind the scenes to make those sketches a reality). While he plucks away at strings of code, I'm busy at work with everything else: our social media presence, copywriting, drinking tea, watching Spongebob Squarepants, devising business plans, and eagerly anticipating the launch of this kick-ass website.

WHAT DOES IT DO?

Good question! Like NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month), YearNoWriMad is designed to help you get those words out of the back of your brain and onto a page. Additionally, you can set your own word count goals, have multiple projects (and do we mean multiple!), and participate in word wars with friends and strangers alike all year long. YearNoWriMad is the perfect solution for writers who, like me, are irrationally competitive about their word counts. YearNoWriMad is also perfect for anyone who likes to track their progress, as we will roll out a million and one different ways to set goals and track word counts. Want to set a month-long goal for Novel #1? Sure. Want to see your collective progress this week on Novel #1, Novel #2, and Novel #4? Sure. Want to see how far you've come toward your year-long goal? SURE!

And the word wars. OH, THOSE WORD WARS. In addition to having your frenemies' word counts viewable on your "Frenemies" page, you can hold a live multi-person word war right on YearNoWriMad. Your word count will be updated as you write, and you can even share the outcome of your battle on Facebook. In a nutshell, YearNoWriMad is an OCD writer-type's dream come true.

► WHO MADE IT?

YearNoWriMad was dreamed up by Kat and executed by Mike. Mike handles the  massively complicated web development while I handle everything else. We're a soon-to-be-married couple operating out of Colorado with our wiggle-beast named Bear. (He and my Grandmother's dog Buddy are our official WriMad dogs. You'll see their memes floating around on our facebook page from time to time.) Both of us are college graduates and devout pizza lovers.
